CoolTone vs. Emsculpt
What are the differences?
What is Muscle Stimulation?
One of the latest advances in body contouring is muscle stimulation, and this is something CoolTone and Emsculpt both use. Generally speaking, muscle stimulation involves using targeted electromagnetic impulses to build, strengthen, and tone the fibers in your muscles. With muscle stimulation, you can increase the results you get without putting in excessive effort lifting weights or working out at the gym.
Comparing the Two Treatments
Emsculpt was the first body contouring solution to hit the market back in 2018. As a competitor, CoolTone was released just a year later in 2019. Both of these body contouring solutions rely on electromagnetic energy to stimulate muscle contractions. For both, treatments typically last for 30 minutes, and there is no downtime after each session.
However, CoolTone and Emsculpt use different forms of energy. Emsculpt uses High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic (HIFEM) energy to get results, while CoolTone uses Magnetic Muscle Stimulations
(MMS) using high-powered coil electromagnetic energy. Compared with Emsculpt, CoolTone has a higher Tesla energy, with a capability of 1.39 Teslas compared with the 0.9 Tesla rating of Emsculpt.
Because CoolTone uses a different energy type and has higher Teslas, the pulse times are longer when compared with Emsculpt. When you increase the width of a pulse, you can recruit more muscle fibers to help with stimulation. A longer pulse width also penetrates deeper into the muscles and produces stronger contractions.
Another one of the main differences between CoolTone and Emsculpt is how these solutions “cool down.” Because magnetic energy produces heat due to its intense electrical current, there must be a way to cool down the system. CoolTone uses a closed system, so the coils surrounding the system use coolant to reduce heat. For this reason, you can wear clothes or not wear clothes during your session. Emsculpt, on the other hand, uses fan technology to keep the system cool, which means patients cannot wear clothes or blankets during treatment.
You want to get a lean, toned body, but even with consistent gym participation and eating a healthful diet, you still might not get the results you want. Because of this, you’ve probably considered CoolTone or Emsculpt to enhance your efforts. But which body contouring solution is right for you? It all comes down to the differences between these two options.
Is There a Difference in Price?
One of the big reasons why we recommend CoolTone over Emsculpt to our clients is because of the price. If you go with CoolTone, you will pay half the amount for treatment sessions and get double the number of sessions.
